How is it already July we hear you ask? While we are thrilled to have the summer sunshine at our finger tips, we've had a slight panic at the fact that Tort & Tiger is now 6 months old! And what a whirlwind its been! I'd had the intention of starting a blog alongside the website from the off but now we are starting to find our own little space in the vintage homeware world, it seems the perfect time to start. So, with as little waffling as I can manage, here are our five July favourites!
1) Corn Ceramic Serving Plate & 5 x Sideplates
This is the serving set of the summer my friends! Bright yellow corn has been hand-painted onto a gorgeous cream ruffle ceramic plate and 5 matching side plates. This set is screaming out for a garden party or BBQ. A fun bit of dinnerware from the 1980s.
2) Tall Tort Vase
It's Tortoiseshell glassware, what’s not to love? The shape of this vase is stunning and the colours that come out when this vase is placed in natural light are quite something. A truly beautiful bit of homeware. An essential for any lover of animal print!
3) 5 x Coloured Stem Claw Drinking Glasses
These glasses are quite the show stoppers. Beautiful coloured glass stems, with textured claw and scale detailing and a lovely clear glass bowl. A beautiful mix of colours and in immaculate vintage condition. That perfect mix of gothic design and candy cane colour.
4) 5 x Onyx Marble Goblets
If you want to make a statement then we've got the glasses for you. Stunning onyx goblets, each one with its unique markings. They are weighty, eye-catching and something a bit different. These would look stunning displayed on an open shelf in a kitchen or dining room. Super stylish!
5) White Swirl Trinket Glass
We're finishing things off with a statement piece of glass. It's big, it's bold and it screams style. Whether you use this glass as a display piece or as a trinket dish it's going to draw attention. We love the white swirl detailing throughout the stem. A really fun piece of homeware.
